Shea invites citizens to join him Feb. 23 for telephone town hall

Rep. Matt Shea is inviting 4th District citizens to join him for a telephone town hall meeting Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m. The program is an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the 2011 legislative session, ask questions, and participate in surveys.

“We're rapidly approaching the halfway mark of the scheduled 105-day legislative session. Soon the focus will be on the House floor as we prepare to vote on bills approved by House committees. It's an important time to hear from people back home as we begin to take votes on issues that could impact them,” said Shea, R-Spokane Valley. “This call-in format makes it very convenient for people to participate in their government from the comfort of their own homes. I encourage our local citizens to call in and become involved in the legislative process.”

The program works much like a call-in radio show. People may choose to stay on the line and if they have a question, press *3 (Star 3) on their telephone keypads to talk with Shea. Callers have complete control over how they choose to participate and how long they wish to stay connected.

To connect to the Shea teleconference, call toll-free at 1-877-229-8493 and enter PIN number 15550 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 23.
